What is Upward Basketball and Cheerleading?
Upward is an evangelistic sports ministry specifically designed for Kindergarten through sixth grade boys and girls that promotes salvation, character, and self-esteem in every child. The Upward league begins with one hour practice per week and is followed by eight weeks of games and practices. Therefore, the time commitment is two hours per week once games begin.
Registration Information
Early registration cost per child for basketball or cheerleading is $65. After November 1, add $10, a total of $75. Basketball players will receive a practice t-shirt, a basketball jersey, and basketball shorts. Cheerleaders will receive a Cheer top, cheer skort and a mock turtleneck.
Evaluations
Every child must attend one basketball evaluation or cheerleading orientation. They will take place in the Activities Building. Evaluations will be held on Saturday, October 18, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and Monday-Tuesday, October 20 & 21 from 6:00-8:00 pm.
League Schedule
Practices begin the first week of December.
First Game - Saturday, January 10, 2008
Awards Celebration - Tuesday, March 3, 2008 - 6:30
